And I Still Walk…

My walking streak continues, I have walked every day for 738 consecutive days.   You would think at this point it would be easy to keep going but it is not.   The voice of doubt that lives inside my head continues to offer reasons why I should quit.   I have been trying to silence the voice by listing reasons why I should continue walking every day.   Here is my short list:

1.  I should keep walking every day because I said I was going to walk every day.   And when I do what I say I am going to do, I feel good about myself.

2.  Walking every day is good for my health.  And being healthy is a gft and something I don’t want to take for granted.

3.  By walking every day I am setting a good example for my daughters to follow.

Those may not be the best reasons to keep walking, but they are good enough.  And today good enough is enough to get me going.

Great Quote by Malcolm Muggeridge

Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.

Believe the Best

When was the last time the worst thing that could possibly happen to you, actually happened.   Whatever you are are going through may be bad but be encouraged because it is not the worst thing that could possibly happen.   How do I know?  If the worst thing that could possibly happen, happened you would not be able to read this post.

Encouraging Thought by Donna Fargo

Look closely at your troubles.  Don’t let them cause you to give up.  Befriend them and learn from them.  Feel them lose their power over you.   Allow them to teach you what you want to know and move on.  Try not to be afraid.

What Are You Willing to Wait For?

Several years ago I read Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Marcel Marquez.  It is absolutely the most beautiful love story ever written.  The main character waits almost 60 years for the woman he loves to accept his marriage proposal.   Yes, that sounds a little crazy.   But the truth is if you want something badly enough you have to not only be willing to work for it, you have to be willing to wait for it.   And for most of us working is a whole lot easier than waiting.
