Life is Better Than You Think It Is
Last week I spent three days in Washington D.C. as a chaperone for my daughter’s 5th grade class. I was not looking forward to being on a bus with 30 ten year old’s for hours at a time. But like most things in life, thinking about it was a lot worse than actually doing it. The kids were well behaved and I could not help but get caught up in their excitement as we visited the monuments and museums. The bus was comfortable and the little girl who sat across from me had an endless supply of twizzler candy, and every time I smiled at her, she gave me a piece. My lips are still a little sore… I am not sure if it is from the smiling or the chewing.
On the ride home the kids were worn out and the bus was quiet. I was a little sad that the trip was over but encouraged by the fact that life is actually better than I think it is.
Encouragement Always.
